"These small Pieces are a suite for Wind Band. « Le Début… » and « …Et la FIN » were part of a proposal for main theme for a TV show. Initially written for piano, this is only in 2004, during a long hospitalization that I did the orchestration for Wind Band.

Simple, those pieces are entertaining and humorous. Their title give easily an indication of the character to give while playing them. Except « Le Début… » that should be played at the start, and « … Et la FIN » at the end, I let the Conductor free to define the order in which to play the central Pieces: « L’Heure de Pointe » (The rush hour), « Un Moment Presque Tranquille » (An almost quiet moment), and « Le Voyage en Train » (The train trip)." - Gilles ARCENS
