Sarah LABROUSSE-BAERT
Her interest in baroque music led her to enter the class of Patrick Cohen-Akenine at the Orsay ENM later obtaining the baroque violin DEM at the Toulouse CRR as a student of Gilles Colliard for whom she is currently the assistant.
As a musician she has worked as a violinist with important orchestras such as the Orchestre National d’Ile de France, the Orchestre de Picardie, the Concerts Lamoureux, the Orchestra Les Siecles…. She participated in the creation of groups such as Imaginaires… and taught in orchestral student camps organized by Nicolas Brochot, Laurent Goossaert or Pierre Cao. She often plays as a soloist with orchestras or in chamber music ensembles. She also regularly plays baroque violin with the Orchestre de Chambre de Toulouse and soon with the Ensemble Café Zimmerman.
At the same time she has studied musicology at the Paris CNSM with Brigitte Francois-Sappey and at the University of Paris IV-Sorbonne obtaining a master’s degree in musicology.
Her love of pedagogy led her to obtain formal teaching qualifications: the DE and success in the competition to be a violin professor, and also to invest her energy in teaching for the past 15 years in the Laval ENM, the Grand-Couronne ENM and now at the Montpellier CRR where she is currently a tenured professor. Recently her work with students has led naturally to the development of methods and pieces for violin students which are now published by FLEX Editions.
